We are a biotech startup that is developing ReceptomiX, a groundbreaking measurement system making use of human and animal receptors for the screening of bioactive compounds related to flavour and health. Position Overview
Our ReceptomiX technology is an instrument that will be used by researchers at companies and research organizations. As a Market Scientist, you will bridge the gap between our advanced technology and its practical applications for our (potential) customers.
This key role combines scientific background with commercial insight to help users and customers understand how our solutions can address their challenges, ensuring that client needs inform product development.
Key Responsibilities
Science-Business Bridge
- Act as the primary scientific resource for the business development team
- Translate complex technical concepts for non-expert audiences
- Collaborate with R&D to match the internal technical roadmap with market opportunities
- Client engagement: identify and approach potential clients in the food, flavor, biotech, and pharma domains
- Interface with potential clients to identify their needs and showcase the unique value proposition of ReceptomiX and learn how to balance scientific integrity with commercial objectives
- Prepare and deliver scientific presentations and demonstrations
- Create documentation capturing project outcomes, customer insights, and market data
- Synthesize scientific and commercial findings into clear recommendations
Project Management
- Track milestones and manage deliverables across teams
- Communicate progress to stakeholders
Qualifications
- Education: MSc (or higher) in Biotechnology, Food science, Molecular biology, Cell biology, Pharmacology, Food & Nutrition, Food chemistry, Biomedical engineering or related scientific disciplines (other advanced technical degrees in relevant fields will be considered)
- Experience: Affinity with innovative measurement/sensor technologies and molecular biology, cell biology, food science, or pharmacology. Experience in combining scientific knowledge with business applications is preferred, as well as knowledge on the biotech, food, flavour, or pharma industry.

- Scientific Literacy: strong foundational knowledge in life sciences with ability to interpret scientific literature and experimental data
- Technical Communication: experienced in creating presentations and technical documents for diverse audiences
- Project Management: proficient in planning and executing project timelines using standard methodologies
